The PSP stands to be one of the most popular
among handheld game consoles in the world today. Short for PlayStation
Portable, the PSP hails from Sony Computer Entertainment, and is known to be
the first of its kind utilizing the Universal Media Disc format, making it the
first handheld game console working with optical disc format reading
technologies.
Unveiled to the world on the 11th of
May in 2004, the PlayStation Portable truly lives up to its namesake, as it is
simply a portable version of Sony’s world famous PlayStation gaming console
line of products.
A Quick Look at the
PSP
As a device, the PSP is one that is not only
entertaining, but also quite smart. Aside from the gaming benefits users gain
from a PSP, the device could also function as a portable movie player, allowing
users to watch their favourite movies. It also has built-in MP3 playback
capabilities, making the PSP an MP3 player as well. Though not as small as an
iPod or a Creative Zen, the PSP has no problem playing MP3s for users.
File storage capabilities also make the PSP a
portable storage device to which users could store files when they are on the
go. Utilizing the latest of USB technologies, one could easily upload files
into a PSP, and retrieve them as though it were a portable flash disk. As it
comes with a UMD reader, the PSP is also a portable UMD reader, in which users
can use in accessing such disc types.
But of all the boasted features of the PSP, its
portable game console nature is known to leave countless gamers breathless,
with impressive graphics and a wide selection of PSP games delving into
different gaming genres. With WiFi connectivity features, different users can
play two player games easy, adding more gameplay value to a game being played.
With such features, you’d think that the PSP is
one entertaining gadget that has it all. But as it is with the world, PSP
owners have learned that there are some things they’d wish to be able to do
with their PSPs, but can’t seem to find possible.
Enter, PSP Hacks.
PSP Hacks and the Most
Popular of PSP Hacks
PSP Hacks are basically modification avenues to
which PSP users get to do things beyond the default constraints the PSP came
out with. As the PSP comes with certain capability limitations, through PSP
Hacks those limitations are “jumped over”, allowing users to do whatever they
wish to do with their PSP handheld gaming consoles. Issues like adjusting the sensitivity levels of the PSP’s analog
controller are easily resolved utilizing PSP hacks. A more enhanced user
interface system, with more control features for the PSP handheld console is
also among the applications of PSP hacks.
Of course, there are risks when talking about
the implementation of PSP Hacks, and permanently damaging one’s PSP device is
one of them. One of the most famous of
PSP hacks takes shape in SNES, or Super Nintendo Entertainment System,
Emulators for the PSP.
SNES Emulators for the
PSP
There is no denying that there are just some
things in the past that just can’t compare with what’s being sold today. Old
Nintendo SNES games would be one of them.
SNES Emulators for PSP handheld game consoles
are basically PSP hacks, which allow users to play SNES games through an
emulated environment in the PSP device. Through a series of PSP firmware
tweaking and application running, playing old SNES games is possible with one’s
PSP, allowing more game options to be played other than those which come out
for PSP game consoles alone.
If you wish to learn more about SNES Emulation
in PSPs and other PSP Hacks, simply Google it down. You’d be amazed at the many
PSP hacks there are out there, as your concerns over function restrictions of
your PSP could be easily resolved with PSP Hacks. Once again, as a word of
caution, as Sony didn’t officially sanction PSP Hacks by running PSP Hacks on
your PSP, you are in the risk of damaging it for good.
