The iPhone stands to be Apple’s entry into the mobile phone media market, boasting an impressive user interface, and supporting popular mobile communication standards which has bridged people together today, via GPS and Internet technologies.
Not only limited as a device geared for taking
and/or making calls, or sending SMS messages, the iPhone comes with nifty
features, making it more than just a mobile phone. Its integrated digital
camera feature makes it a digital camera, perfect for taking snapshots. With an
impressive storage capacity of 4 or 8 gigabytes, depending on which model type
is being talked about, the iPhone has no problem storing media files, as well
as playback features, making it a portable entertainment system to which users
could either watch videos with, or listen music with. With built-in WiFi
connectivity hardware, the iPhone also stands to be a portable Internet
browser, allowing users to easily connect to Wireless Access Points and browse
the World Wide Web. With iPhone Games, the iPhone also becomes a portable game
console, making it an electronic device where games can be conveniently and
enjoyably played. Such are the featured
highlights of the iPhone.
But as features of electronic products come,
actually owning an actual item opens eyes to the reality of the product itself.
The iPhone is not an exemption from such point of view.
Since its release into the mass market, the
iPhone hasn’t exactly been hailed as THE phone to have, even with its boasted
features and functions. In fact, the iPhone is the most highly criticized
mobile phone, leading it to tread on the axiom, “started with a bang, ended
with a whimper”.
Areas of criticism include the following: It
has a digital camera which can take pictures easily, but CAN NOT record videos.
All its 4 or 8 gigabyte storage capacity is good for still digital images. It
has no problem playing mp3 files for entertainment sake, but CAN NOT use mp3’s
as its ringtone, limiting its personalization factor. If these points of
criticism aren’t enough, one area of the iPhone’s “realm” is often highlighted,
allowed to simply speak for “itself”, stating just how bad the iPhone is.
This would be iPhone Games.
iPhone Games as
Downsides in Itself
Like all mobile smartphones, the iPhone
supports games that can be installed into the device. Smartphone users using
other brand have the option of installing games into their handhelds, and the
iPhone works along this dynamics. What makes the iPhone Games different from
other smartphone games made for other smartphones is the fact that most iPhone
Games are simply boring games.
You may think of what you are reading now as
another “iPhone bashing” write-up, but carefully consider the titles and
premises of these “popular” iPhone Games:
Hangman – a “digital” version of the pen and
paper hangman game, the iPhone Hangman Game isn’t exactly something that many
consider to be exiting, not for the actual, original game’s gameplay value, but
more for this iPhone Game version in itself.
Gikis – the premise of this iPhone game is
simple. As an iPhone Game player, you are tasked to save a ship’s crew from an
impending shark attack. As a game, this premise just simply sounds monotonous.
iTreck – taking off from the popular Star Trek
series, the iPhone iTreck Game is one that entails navigating a ship through
various landscapes.
Bobble Head – as a game, the iPhone Bobble Head
game tasks players to guess the names of featured bobble heads.
If you’ll be just reading about these iPhone
Games here, you wouldn’t be able to appreciate just how mundane these games are
compared to what other smartphone games have to offer its users. Do a web
search using your favourite web search engine. Check out the screenshots of
these games. Compare them with other smartphone game screenshots, as well as
game premises. And you’ll see exactly
why iPhone Games are hailed to be iPhone Downsides in itself. But then, level of fun and excitement varies
in each individual. Hence, you may or
may not find such games as completely boring.
Just try them out for yourself and see the difference.
